Exploration Structured Analytic Techniques (ESATs)
Albert Einstein once said, “We cannot solve problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.” Whether your problem is large or small, this course will show you the power that innovation brings to analysis.
The six Exploration Structured Analytic Techniques demonstrated and applied in this course teach analysts to generate novel or different thoughts, create new processes and procedures, and reduce the chances of being surprised by unexpected developments. Learners participate in numerous hands-on exercises designed to:
- Transform new or existing ideas, knowledge, and insight into something useful and meaningful
- Identify potential new sources of information or reveal gaps in data or thinking
- Provide a fresh perspective on existing issues or problems

- Brainstorming and Cluster Brainstorming
- Mind Maps
- Concept Maps
- Venn Analysis
This is a two-day classroom course, with up to 24 students. Instructor-led classroom learning emphasizes small group exercises.
